Welcome to the Big Sky Country! This
greets fifty guests annually as they assemble from all points of the
globe. These lucky cowboys will begin the vacation of a
lifetime…Roundup Cattle Drive Inc.’s Annual cattle drive
extraordinaire. The days will be filled with exciting cattle
work, awesome scenery, great grub, “Two-step” on our portable,
horse-drawn dance floor, and finally, resting your saddle-sored bodies
to the serenade of coyotes under the stars.
The Roundup Cattle Drive includes 15 wooden-wheeled
wagons making a forty mile circle north of Billings in the rugged
sandstone and jackpine-covered Bull Mountains. Including crew, members
and guests, over 85 people will dine on sumptuous chuckwagon grub
prepared by our versatile chef and crew…thick, juicy steaks to
vegetarian entrees’. The week is filled with many team and individual
contests that vary from showing one’s roping abilities to testing
one’s eye spotting that arrowhead or turkey feather for the scavenger
hunt. The main attraction is the cow work. Hundreds of head of cattle are
gathered, sorted, doctored and moved on a large ranch near Roundup…definitely a highlight for the guests.
